Strategy 3:How to Optimize your book

Now you have great cover from Fiverr. What is next?
The first thing that comes in mind is the title. Never underestimate your book title. It plays a key role. You need to optimize the book title so that it can easily be found on Amazon and Google Searchers alike.
The simplest way to go by this, which I always use, is a free tool called Google Keyword Planner or you can try a paid version of Long Tail Pro which gives in-depth analysis than Google Keyword Planner. All you need to get access to this free tool is to register with your Gmail account, which is also free. Then input the title of your proposed book and Google Keyword Planner will do the rest. Make sure you set the searches to local rather than global. The global one will give you more searches but most of them are just information searches. Choose the keywords with less competition and add those keywords into your book description and the title.
Doing this can help your book rank very fast and be seen by other search engines.
Your Description: Amazon allow you to use up to 4,000 characters for your book description – so make sure you use it! Don’t forget to add the keywords to it.
Here’s your chance to both wow your audience, but also to get indexed by Google. Yes you heard it, Google indexes Amazon descriptions and displays as search results. And they trust them! So together with your title, a good description could put you on page one of Google! It’s worked for me!
And keep it compelling to your readers – don’t simply stuff it with spammy keywords!

Strategy 4: Pricing your book

This mostly depends on the volume of your book.
The general rule is:
If the book is a standalone book, then you have to hit the price between $2.99 to $9.99 to take advantage of the 70% royalty. (After I conducted my own research, I found out that, the best price between these two figures is $5.97).
Pricing the book low means something different to different buyers. Some may value the book as having low quality and some too may value an expensive book as a high quality book but they may not have the money to buy. So you need to charge a competitive price.
If you plan of using the book just to drive traffic to your website in order for your customers to purchase more of your other book, then you can set the price to $0.99 or offer it even free.
Many authors use the last option to drive more sales on their site, which in turn help them to get good reviews. Once they have made good sales and get to the bestsellers column with more reviews, they then shoot the price up a little.
So the strategy is to decide on whether to use the price of the book as a traffic source for your other books or to profit from.

Strategy 5: Getting Reviews.

We all know the importance of social proof when deciding whether or not to purchase a product. And we all read reviews. A book with no reviews doesn’t make more sales.
The good news about it is that,
a.      You only need some few handful of reviews, and
b.      It’s very easily to get those reviews without too much effort.
The following are some of the strategies that I personally use to get some good reviews after my book is launched.
1.      Family and Friends: You can give them a gift card or just simply ask them to purchase the book and give you a good review.
2.      Facebook: Many authors on Facebook have similar mind and will be willing to give you a great review. You can also give them vouchers and allow them to buy your book. You can also write the review for them and all what they need is to post the review after purchasing the book
3.      Your own Facebook Fan Page. You can also create a fan page, which is purposely for your books. With this approach, you can targeted people.
4.      Use KDP promotion days. During that time, you can set the book for free and go to Facebook and request for people to get it free and leave a good review
5.      Fiverr. Another short method I use is to go to Fiverr and search for KDP reviews. With only $5, I get quality reviews. I mostly give them gift card worth the cost of the book.
6.      Review swaps. You can message other author via Twitter and Facebook and offer to review their book if they do yours!

Strategy 6: Using your own Website and Forums

As for me, the best option is to use Facebook for promoting your book.
Marketing your book on your own site is also a great way to drive sales. Write article about your book and use Google keyword planner to get the keywords. Then fix those keywords into your article and get it rank very easily.
You can also join forums based on your book title and start contributing to those posts. Make sure you post relevant contents. Check to see the forums that has signatures and start posting.

Strategy 7: Twitter Trick.

Create a twitter account purposely for your books and start following people who are interested on your niche. You can type the niche in which your book belongs and start following the people in that niche.
After following them, the next step is to quote some few text from your book and start tweeting it everyday and don’t forget to add the link to your book store.
You can shorten the link of the book by using some URL shortness like Goo.gl, Bitly and others since twitter allows you up to 140 characters. Most of the people will follow you back and over time, you will build a nice captive audience.

Strategy 8: Repurposing your book

OK, so you’ve wrapped up your book and it’s starting to sell. Now on to the next one…
…but wait!
Have you really maximized the potential profit from all the material 8that you sweated all those months over?
Time to repurpose! In what other forms can you present the same material to your audience?
Perhaps you could:
·        Turn it into a physical book at CreateSpace. Contact this Fiverr seller to get it done in less than 24 hours. www.Fiverr.com
·        Create an audio book on Audible;
·        Make a series of videos and post them on YouTube;
·        Create a full series of training videos/podcasts and sell them as a course;
